Vancouver pride parade
VHS and our escaped battery hen mascot Henny took to the streets in the Vancouver Pride Parade for the very first time in August. Perched atop a rainbow-emblazoned 1947 Chrysler Town and Country, Henny and her flock of “hens” reached over 600,000 people with the message that cages are cruel and that battery hens should be allowed to “come out”! Over 2,000 Chicken Out! pamphlets were handed out along the parade route, and the VHS booth attracted lots of attention at the Pride Festival.
